Located next to Soll, Ellmau offers a more sedate ski holiday experience than its neighbour but accesses the same extensive terrain of the Ski Welt.
To access Elmau from Kitzbuhel take a bus directly or to Brixen im Thale or alternatively ski there via Westendorf.
Elmau skiing is characterised by gentle, tree-lined beginner and intermediate pistes that run down to the attractive village. As with most skiing in the Ski Welt, intermediate dominates, although there are more demanding slopes to be found beneath the Hohe Salve peak at the heart of the Ski Welt. Ellmau is one of the more outlying resorts if accesses from Kitzbuhel but is easy to reach and return from in a day if you are prepared to cover some miles. Ellmau and the Ski Welt area are covered on the Kitzbuher Alpen ski pass. The views form the conical peak are fantastic with the entire Ski Welt and the Kitzbuhel ski areas all visible (weather permitting).
