Easy day trips to Brixen im Thale
Brixen is easily accessed from Kitzbuhel, whether on skis or by road or rail.
Brixen im Thale is located just down the valley from Kitzbuhel and can be a good alternative to Kitzbuhel as it also accesses the Ski Welt ski region. Brixen offers immediate access to the huge Ski Welt ski region, an area that stretches right down to Ellmau and contains around 250km of ski pistes that are best suited to the beginner or intermediate skier, although advanced skiers can find some steep terrain at the Hohe salve, the highest point of the Ski Welt. Possibly the most interesting way of getting to Brixen from Kitzbuhel is via Westendorf, the neighbouring village of Brixen. The Ki-West ski lift now links Kitzbuhel and Westendorf (with a short bus transfer) and from Westendorf there is another short bus transfer to the main lift station in Brixen. After a day of skiing the Ski Welt and Brixen it is a fairly easy journey back to Kitzbuhel if you do not have the energy to complete the return ski route.
